Why come

Predore sits on the western shore of Lake Iseo in the province of Bergamo, beyond the Valcalepio, with Monte Bronzone rising to 1,334 meters directly behind the village. Below the modern streets runs a Roman villa of 15,000 square meters that extended from the mountain slope down to the ancient lakeside port; brought to light by a 2003 construction project, the complex includes a complete thermal sequence of frigidarium, tepidarium, and caldarium added in the 2nd-3rd centuries. An inscribed votive altar to Diana from the centro storico ties the complex to the family of consul Marco Nonio Arrio Cuciano, around 201 AD.

In the medieval period Predore was a fortress with two lakeside towers protecting the palace. The Bus del Coren cave above the village holds Neolithic finds, the only cave dwellings of that period in the whole Bergamo area.
